We are happy to announce that the new season of Factions will be released on Saturday, May 11th, 2024.
After the beta season, it is time for the first season, filled with features, fixes, and much more.
If you want to see a summary of the changes that we have implemented for this reset, please read further.

As this season is the first official map, we will be including a list of features from the beta map within this post as well, so that all new and/or returning players can look at this post and see what the map has in store for them with great detail, while for the players who were here at the Beta Map, the post also includes all new features to come.

Grace Period (no explosions): 7 days.

To keep things fair, every Faction participating must follow our set of rules, breaking these rules will result in Faction Strikes, which lead to a temporary value reduction, and can even result in a disqualification of participating in the Faction Top.

New! Worlds
But what's Factions without its diverse worlds?
The overworld will be your vanilla-generated world, while all the other 2 worlds are flat worlds, ready for you to step into the base-building action.
These 3 worlds are waiting for you and your faction to get that base building going.
Each of these worlds come with their unique warzones, all in theme of the world.

New! Raiding Outpost
The raiding outpost is a special area that will be open during the whole duration of the map, ensuring there's always some action right from the start.
To take control of this outpost, you need to raid a specific box where the outpost is located.
Once you capture the outpost, it enters a 15-minute grace period. After that, your faction must defend it.
For every 30 minutes that your faction holds the raiding outpost, you'll earn experience and money that goes directly into the Faction Bank.
Additionally, you'll receive a spawner boost for as long as you control the outpost.

We're excited to announce that our Factions gamemode will have two different outposts.
Players can look forward to exploring two standard outposts, designed for regular activities and encounters.

New! Crown Top
Starting this season, we're introducing a new competition called the Crown Top, also known as PvP Top.
This competition is open to all players and happens every season.
It's all about battling it out and proving your skills.
How to earn Crowns?
Earning crowns is a simple process – you can earn crowns with your faction or alone by participating in server-wide events. You will earn crowns for completing various tasks:
Capturing a KOTH | Holding an Outpost | Winning the Citadel |

Each faction member participating in capturing a KOTH will earn 25 Crowns. | For every 15 minutes your faction is holding the outpost every online faction member will earn 1 Crown. | Each faction member participating in capturing the Citadel will earn 100 Crowns. |
At the end of the season, the top 3 crowned players will receive a reward in the form of Gems, a currency that can be used to purchase items on Factions.
First place: €125 worth of Gems.
Second place: €90 worth of Gems.
Third place: €50 worth of Gems.

It's time to dive into an exhilarating update that will ignite your inner explorer.
Get ready to embark on a quest like never before, as we introduce the all-new Quest System!
You have the opportunity to purchase quests from the Quest Shop!
Once you've acquired your quests that can be bought from the Quests NPC, you'll have a limited window of time to prove yourself by completing challenging tasks. But that's not all! You can view all potential tasks and rewards, though you'll be assigned one at random based on the rarity that you purchase.
As you conquer these quests, the rewards you can earn are nothing short of legendary. Brace yourselves for a chance to win:

New! Runes
Runes are a form of custom enchantments available for purchase with experience.
Each rune comes with a success chance for application. If the application fails, the item faces a risk of destruction based on the destroy chance associated with the rune.
The runes come in 5 different tiers:
Common, Uncommon, Epic, Ultra & Godly.
At Factions, we've introduced a variety of runes, which include:

If you have runes you can no longer use, you can Tinker these runes with the new /tinkerer.
The Tinkerer will use your unused runes in to Mystery Dust, which can be revealed to either change the success or destroy percentage of your rules by a small amount.
New! Sell Menu
We're happy to announce a returning feature that simplifies selling items in the game.
To sell items, just type /sell into the game.
This command will open a special menu that looks like a screen.
Here, you can place the items you want to sell.
After you put the items in the menu and close it, the game will automatically sell those items for you.
The money from the sale will be added to your account immediately.

Special sets in the game provide a unique advantage during encounters with opponents.
Each set is designed with a specific boost that activates when you wear the full set, offering strategic benefits that can turn the tide of battle in your favor.

Each special set comes with their own unique weapon, which also has an ability. These weapons can be used with every set, not just the set that is in line with the theme of the weapon.

At Factions you can collect a variety of masks, to further enhance your special sets.
When applied to a helmet, these masks grant an even bigger boost, enhancing your capabilities and providing a significant advantage in combat.

Now about pets: these small companions can provide you with an advantage over your opponents.
The pets stay in your inventory, and you can activate them simply by right-clicking with them in hand.
These pets offer various benefits that can help you in different aspects of the game.

New! Citadel
A feature that will encourage PvP in a team-fight environment and will be well received by all members.
What is the Citadel?
The Citadel is essentially KOTH but on a larger scale. This is an event and would take place every 3 times per week (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday).
Keep in mind you only have 3 minutes to enter once the event starts, in which they battle to capture it, and rewards are given to the player that manages to remain inside the citadel capture area for 10 minutes!
When is the Citadel?
Friday: 22:00 server time
Saturday: 19:00 server time
Sunday: 15:00 server time
Pearls and commands are disabled, if you disconnect from the server you will instantly die and won’t be able to return to this event.
Be aware, touching lava means you guessed it instant death. This is the last man standing that you cannot leave, so make sure you are prepared to fight to the out.
Earn great rewards!
You will receive a Citadel Lootbag upon winning the Citadel with your faction.
This loot bag will be given to one of the faction members standing on the Citadel, it is up to the faction to divide the loot equally. Some of the following rewards are within this loot bag, which gives a total of 3 items:

New! Caverns
The caverns, situated beneath the spawn area, are prime spots for grinding, offering players the chance to battle mobs for items and money.
This extensive cave system is vast, so it's easy to wander off path—stay alert.
Within these caverns, adventurers will encounter two formidable bosses: the Magma King and the Coral Queen.
Defeating these bosses rewards players with a boss loot bag, packed with incredible treasures.
Cavern Scythe
Grinding these monsters with in the caverns can grant you a great boost. Which is why every player can obtain a Cavern Scythe.
This sword can earn Essence for every mob killed within the Caverns, use this essence to upgrade to sword to yield even more loot from these mobs.
Next to the Bosses, and mobs that give you extra money, experience and Souls, there will be Cavern Envoys.

The Caverns will come alive every few hours with envoy supply drops filled with incredible loot.
Embark on a high-stakes adventure where risk meets reward most dramatically.
The Cavern Envoy event promises not just any loot, but crazy, valuable finds that could change the course of your season.
Misc. Updates & Changes
Multiple small changes have been made for this map compared to the Beta Map, some of these small changes are the following:
- Increased the TNT Bank Limit.
- Increased the amount of Faction Tokens earned from missions.
- Increased the activation chance for all Runes.
- Removed the cooldown of selling TNT Collectors when fully upgraded.
- Added a help command for the raiding outpost.
- Updated the Anti Cheat.
- Added money and exp pouches to the special mobs inside the Caverns as a drop.
And ofcourse, we fixed some pesky bugs.
- Fixed Sand Wands.
- Fixed Horizontal Psuedo gen buckets.
- Fixed Souls rune not giving extra souls.
- Fixes masks effects dissapearing after 30 seconds.
- Fixed enemies being able to open fences and doors in your claims.
- Fixed not being able to side claim in the Raiding Outpost world.
- Fixed not being able to use water in Nether world (whoops).
These are only a few of the additions we will be implementing into the new server.
