How do you unlink your account to forums?

I've tried /unlink could someone help me?

To unlink your Minecraft account from your forums account you can do so by scrolling over your profile in the upper right hand corner, then click on MineSync Settings, after this you have the option to unlink the account.

Just asking, why would you want to unlink your minecraft account? Member rank problems? Just curious.
