This forum thread is related to the sand bucket gens, not towards bashing staff for 'spreading false information.' If they are going to be added, they will. If not, we have our reasons. Please stop personally bashing any staff, and stating what you believe their flaws and "fake information" is.

Thanks,

I think you're kind of misinterpreting what I've said. If the plugin is added or not, it's of little or consequence to me personally and you're suggesting that my motives are related to wanting/not wanting the plugin and to "personally bash" the staff team. There was nothing personal about the matter at all.

As for "stating what you believe their flaws and "fake information is"", there is no opinion on the matter. Facts are either correct or incorrect and my belief has no effect on that. If a 12 year old gets something wrong on a minecraft forum relating to plugin development and implementation it doesn't really matter but if staff members are making false assertions over a plugin I'm well within my right to tell them that they're wrong and explain why. You seem to be suggesting that me correcting false information isn't legitimate. If you really believe it explain why. We're not little children we can do more than just say that something is wrong, we can explain our viewpoints.

If that is true explain how these statements are also true:

1.) That this plugin would be "too laggy"- This is incorrect based on the way the plugin works as I've already stated above.

2.) Sand gen buckets generate sand from top to bottom - That is not how the plugin works.

3.) That it would be possible to create infinite sand generators - Another piece of incorrect information distributes by a staff member.

As I've said before you may not know what you were talking about. But at the very least if you're going to stand by what you originally said, explain why since I've debunked the previous arguments above.

Thanks,

I never once disputed the statements you made in your argument, nor did I make this a "if you can't respond, you lose." thread. I believe this is becoming tauntingly (or exceedingly) toxic, and with that I will step out out of this, since you accuse others of misinterpretation while presenting it yourself.

On another note, I was not being condescending, I end all of my posts off with "CallMeMrMeme."

Thanks,

I said in my first post that I disagree with adding them. But sand generators are targeted at higher tier players who have the money to purchase them in the first place. Also your client doesn't affect server lag.

They are spreading false information because the way they think gen buckets are false. I didn't suggest them to go bottom upwards, I stated that is simply how the already existing plugin works on every server I've sampled.

@Ashie and @GeorgiePieMC have spread around 3 pieces of false information notably:

1.) That this plugin would be "too laggy"- This is incorrect based on the way the plugin works as I've already stated above.

2.) Sand gen buckets generate sand from top to bottom - That is not how the plugin works.

3.) That it would be possible to create infinite sand generators - Another piece of incorrect information distributes by a staff member.

They may not have known they were wrong but the point I'm making is that if a staff member is unsure of how something works they should not make up false information or just guess something that's fairly unlikely.

The reset is not scheduled at the end of the year. According to this message:

Also it doesn't matter if you've been playing factions since it was a game mode, sand gen buckets have only been introduced in the last year widely. And you haven't been playing this server's factions.
Please do not going around saying what I have and haven’t played this season please. I know what I’ve played this season and I don’t need a person telling me otherwise. I also worded that sentence incorrectly and meant to say “There will be a reset (if there isn’t one already) in the current end of the year”.

Also, you can not determine if the server lag will be okay with plugins just based on what you have seen previously in the previous year on other servers. MANY other servers have struggled with sand gen buckets due to lag issues and this could easily be a SnapCraft problem possibly.

Bit of a late reply, sorry!
For the record my point about you not playing factions refers to the fact that I've never seen/heard of you on factions. I'm sure if you say you've played factions, you have but probably not enough to recognise pretty mainstream plugins associated with factions.

As for determining server lag, that's simply not true. Having a judgement on a plugin based on years of previous experiences with different versions of the plugin does give me some confidence to talk about that specific plugin. I don't know where you've got the notion that many servers have struggled with gen buckets. I've seen many servers that use virtually the same plugin for genning, even if you decided you wanted to code a new plugin from scratch it would not be that difficult if you've already coded the cobble stone gen buckets plugin. Generally it should not be a laggy plugin based on the set of questions I spoke about above to gauge an idea of how much lag a plugin will cause. Those questions were:
How often will the plugin be used?
And how much strain will each use cause the server?

I don't really see a single plugin where you can't use the same logic to determine relatively speaking how much lag it will cause.
