Hello I am upsidedown_cake.

I am an immortal who has spent a lot of money in game for the love of the server, beautiful organization of the faction server. I have an issue, with an aggressive gameplay like factions, trash talk is only normal. Intimidation and frustration is something you will come across inevitably. Unfortunately, many people abuse this frustration and threatens with bans and mutes. As a result of this, I am asking for clearer rules and guidelines on the use of language and it's conflictual limitations.

As someone who enjoys this part of factions, I think its important to just CLARIFY on current rules and not implement anything new.

Best regards,
Upside ( U )

You will find the rules under https://snapcraft.net/rules/

The rules are the same no matter what server you are on as far as chat is concerned.

The top one is:

Respect all users
Everyone playing is a human, please treat each other respectfully. Please be mindful of your communication, and respectful to others. We will not tolerate the following:

  • Toxicity
  • General discrimination
  • Offensive remarks
  • Provocative communication
  • Harassment
Sensible, well thought-out speech will make everyone’s day a lot better. Please remember that the server is a public service, and there are plenty of players who are similar to you on the other side of the screen.

There are additional chat rules, but that is the main one.

You may also just use the command /ignore (playername) so you don’t have to deal with it.

Also, support tickets are much appreciated to help take care of these players.

Jaide,

How does one express his frustration if you allow scamming on a factions server!!! Surely you must expect some form of verbal retaliation. Again I have gone through the rules but they are not specific enough in my opinion.
Says th toxic one who repeatedly calls me trash unless he wants something

I don't know who you are, but if I called you trash then you probably are.

Hello,
Yes, I understand this and I have read the full page. However, toxicity is a broadly defined term when it comes to speech. I frequently say things and receive comments back saying that goes against the rules because it is 'toxic'. To me that doesn't make sense, more concise guidelines would help prevent this. Also, note that you just entered the factions server briefly and commented on toxicity, that does not make sense to me either. If a staff member wants to accuse a player of toxicity, he should at least give warning and explain what toxicity means on this server. What limits can he reach, threats of raiding aren't toxic and personal issues fall under 'Offensive remarks' and possibly 'Harassment'. But what is toxicity??

Yes understandable. put please refer to my reply to Jaide, specifically a request to clarify the definition of speech 'toxicity'.

Let’s watch the language please.

If the rules are made more strict, then people will find loop holes and ways around it. It’s better to keep it broad and learn them, especially since some rules vary from server to server.

Learn them by getting banned and punished for something that was left broad? Very weird, maybe you should all introduce formal warnings from qualified staff members? That would help, a step under mute or kick.

Can you stop being rude to the staff, they are trying to keep a old server platform running for the players enjoyment. You are a donator you shouldn’t be a total douche to the staff, like they could shut the website and server down if that would make you happy

We do warn/kick/mute so you won’t be punished if you listen to the warning. The warning stage is for those who accidentally break the rules so we inform them of the rule he/she broke. Only if they continue this behavior, they will be punished.

You said he don’t warn lmao. The77x7 said to me when I called you a stone cold bit##. Watch the language please. That’s called a warning dummy, he didn’t just ban me for making a mistake. He corrected it by correcting me.

Shouldnt this warning be recorded as an official action though and I agree.

I warned you about being toxic yesterday in game, it's not a broad warning. I found you saying things that were toxic in chat, it's pretty simple. If you don't find what you said toxic, maybe you better go back and re-read things you are saying. The server should be a pleasant playing experience for everyone, not just someone who wants to continue to be toxic to other players. If it continues, you will just end up muted.
