Snapcraft Protection

Hello all!
We’ve completely changed our protection system! This post will explain everything you need to know about how to use this new form of grief prevention (GP) system. GP uses a system of claim blocks that cover a surface area over land, covering the entire vertical of your claim. Instead of having a physical block that defines a small region, your region is defined invisibly, and can be expanded and removed based on your available “claim blocks”. You can get these claim blocks from various methods in the server. This protection no longer uses actual items! ANY chest, ANY stick, and ANY golden shovel work for anything to do with this plugin! Everything is stored on our database.

How do I use this?
When you first join the server, your account is automatically given 121 claim blocks, and you can use this by placing the protection chest given in your inventory. This means that you can protect an 11x11 area on the ground, which also completely expands vertically (all 256 blocks). The region will be shown by a glow-stone and gold block square. The borders are only visual, and you can toggle them using the STICK item. You can increase your area with extra claim blocks Using a GOLDEN SHOVEL. Note that PvP is also defaulted OFF in all regions!

Visualizing Your Claim:
The stick is a simple tool to display the boundaries of claimed land; any stick will do. Unfortunately, there are no entrance or exit messages for areas, so this is the way to see your claims along with other players. To make the boundaries appear, right click inside your land claim. To make them disappear, right click outside the land claim. They’ll also come back automatically if you stray outside your claim while building. This also works for other player’s claims, so you can see their boundaries as well. Note that the boundary blocks are just visual, so they’re not actual gold and glow-stone. You can also find all your claims with /claimslist.

Expanding Your Claim:
You can expand your claim by using a golden shovel. To expand, right click the corner of your claim you wish to move, and right click the ground where you want to expand to. Additionally, you can make an entirely new Land Claim by right clicking one corner of the ground, and right clicking the opposite corner of the ground. Obviously, you’ll need Claim Blocks to expand your claim. Scrolling over your shovel will tell you how many claim blocks you have left over.

Moving Your Claim:
Although you can expand depending on how many “claim blocks” you have, you only get one automatic chest claim. To move this claim, use the “/AbandonClaim” command, and place a new chest to get a new land claim.

Friends:
To allow another player to access or build on your region, there are a couple commands that allow different types of access.
/Trust [name] – allows building and full access
/AccessTrust [name] – gives perms for beds, buttons, and levers
/ContainerTrust [name] – gives perms for beds, buttons, levers, crafting gear, containers, and animals.
/Untrust [name] – untrusts a player
/TrustList – lists all trusted players

Getting claim blocks
On Snapcraft, the ways to earn claim blocks include:

  • Buying in-game in the SnapShop or with /BuyClaimBlocks
  • Quests, which give claimblocks at the end of the claim. For starters, do Marty’s quests! His first quest will give 400 Additional Claim blocks, and it will give access to a weekly quest that gives 100. Many new quests with claim block rewards will be added occasionally.
DRAGON EGG WARNING:
The new protection currently does not protect other players from teleporting the dragon egg out of your region. If you get an egg, contact an admin, and we'll give you a temporary region to protect the egg in, if the bug isn't fixed.

Enjoy the protection!

Snapcraft Guilds

After a long wait, guilds have been added to Snapcraft Survival! It’s an awesome, yet simple way to connect with your friends and compete with other players on the server.

To create a guild, non-donators have to complete a quest which requires 30 quest-points to begin. The quest is given by the paladin, but once it’s complete, you can create your own guild. Donators are permitted to create their own guilds without having to complete this quest. You can upgrade your guild level by paying a handsome fee. Teamwork!

For a list of commands, use /g help in-game.

Enjoy your guild!
