Island gone? Can I get it back?

Someone invited me to visit their island and I thought they were offering me a teleport there. Instead I ended up joining their island.

Now my original island is gone. Is there any way I can get my island back?

There is no way to get your old island back once you've joined another island.

That's what I was afraid of. That really blows. That's a ton of work down the drain.
