Water and Lava in Dispenser

Why can't i place water or lava buckets in a dispenser? I receive the msg 'You cant put that in there'. I don't understand why, I'm in my protected land.

it is to stop a bug. I'm not sure what bug though.

The reason why we have disabled lava, water, TNT and other Minecraft items is due in part by the constant griefing that occurs with these items. Survival is for peaceful building and not for raiding.
