A Few (nooby) Factions Questions

I have been playing on and off for a while, but recently i have been on factions a lot. I have a few questions that I couldn't find online, perhaps i wasn't looking in the right spots, but...
1) Does snapcraft use the obsidian breaker pluggin
2) How exactly do sponges work
and
3) Why can't i craft hoppers and why are they 1500 in the store?

1.) Nope, obsidian can only be broken by a wither
2.) Sponges do nothing in factions other than being another block like bedrock (can't be broken by explosives/wither but can by players)
3.) Not too sure, I think it was to stop everyone using automatic farms to get money fast without effort. Now most farms are either expensive to make or are manual
