Soo, if you can just put water over things and make them completely non-tnt destructable, then why use obsidian? Why does everyone do obsidian even though u could just do water? Is there something that I don't know about how factions changes block behaviour?

People use obsidian to prevent people trying to mine into the base.

Water is used to prevent TNT from flying in. What I do it that I put water on the obsidian, make a lava layer, and then put another obsidian layer.

Water can be removed using a sand/gravel cannon, even though it is tnt-proof, so an optimal base has water that is hard/impossible to hit with a sand cannon.
