Common Citizen Rights (my Opinion.)

i believe that people should have the right to hack, as long as it doesn't damage the server or anything not fixable.

i believe the mods are taking this so called "Hacker Problem" a bit to far.

Its not that i think the mods aren't doing a good job, i am just saying that people should have the right to hack as long as it is not affecting anything that the mods cant fix. i believe that the mods should allow "hacks" but to a limit so it doesn't affect peoples game-play.

does anyone see my concern?

i believe the mods are doing a great job but i believe they should focus more on what people "want" and try to find a way to make it happen.

i also believe that the mods are focusing more on "banning" people instead of solving the problem.

again, this is my opinion. i just wanted to mention my thoughts and see what others think.

if u have anything to say about this post, feel free to comment on it.

You sure believe a lot :)

But, right now, don't think I can comment much. Too lazy to do paragraphs now. But in a way, your opinion... Is new and interesting I guess. Let's see how others will react, but I don't think many will treat it as a proper 'opinion'.

First off, I'll clarify. There are two primary types of hacks that players use (three, if not counting for fun)

The first one is PvP/combat advantages. Players will use different hacks and mods to get their way and win in battles, fights, and anything PvP related. It is an unfair advantage and there should be no exceptions to the rule if these are the hacks you are talking about.
The second one is the building/flying/speed hacks. The ones that are used to create structures easier and get to new places. These give some players an unfair advantage, and that is the last thing the mods want to deal with.
Lastly, there are hacks that some staff use to detect information about other hacks. Sometimes, they will tell you the player's HP without being near them, or their blocks mined/etc. This could be used, but only for staff.

Your ideas are unique but definitely shouldn't be added onto Snapcraft.

bai!

Yeah, I really don't agree with this..
If this was allowed I would quit pvp on SC all together, I don't work for good gear if I'm gonna go down and die to a hacker with them hitting me from 10 blocks away.

Oh you have the right to hack. We just have the right to ban you if you do. Go ahead and hack a single player game, I'm sure you'll have loads of fun.

For once I agree with Vicky; Can't be bothered to write seven paragraphs today. However, will give you some pointers (and 4 or so paragraphs) :)

Affecting anything that the mods can't fix? Not quite sure what that means, but I'm assuming duplicating items/ blocks and griefing (none of which can be done here; it's been tried). That aside, hacks should be allowed but without affecting gameplay? I find that incorrect in two ways. Here's the defenition of "hack":
'A piece of computer code providing a quick or inelegant solution to a particular problem.'

"Solving the problem" means giving the player an advantage (such as x-raying or far hitting other players). It simply has to affect gameplay. That's the point of a hack. And, since it has to affect your gameplay, it affects the gameplay of others. Nobody enjoys a cheater. Other players may quit, spend all of their time trying to catch you, or otherwise retaliate with their own hacked client. We don't want that; we want a simple, fair game that everyone can enjoy. However, some would like to skip from Step A to Step C without any middleman (such as taking the time to mine, or taking the time to properly dispatch another player).

i also believe that the mods are focusing more on "banning" people instead of solving the problem.
I feel that your statement is a paradox (GLaDOS would be reeling right now). Banning does solve the problem. Let's call me a hacker and, say, give iam Kill Aura. As in most cases, I get caught. Now, from a cruel, cunning player's perspective, I'll examine what the Staff members do to me without any banning capabilities.

Let's say we have a talk. Maybe a short, regulated talk in a private message (because Staff members will have more hackers to talk to). They tell me to stop. I say "okay." However, being that cruel member, I'll continue, and they'll have to keep coming back and telling me. Cross that one off. Staff mutes me? Not really solving anything unless I'm very communicative and like telling others about hacked clients. Cross it off. Maybe they'll kick me? Possibly, but I'll keep coming back for more. A few kicks can't get in my way, especially since they'll have other hackers to deal with (and all of that "__ kicked __" spam). Cross. By now you get the point.

I haven't been here long; just over a year. I could almost bet money, though, that the methods above have been tried here but just don't- can't- work anymore. Banning is a sort of mercy for everyone; it gives the hacker a few days to simmer down, gives Staff members time to assess what the player has done, file it away and see if they've had infractions before, and relieves community members from having to deal with that person. Each one dealt with is done on a nearly personal level; we don't want to ban someone that didn't do anything wrong. Some may not need a base 3-day ban because they were using minor hacks, while others may need a week long (or even a permanent) ban due to their past. Players are given quite a few chances to bounce back, and they know exactly why they were banned (or can otherwise know by asking).

But yes, after that large spew of words, I'm very intrigued about this topic. If you can think of a good way to solve these problems without banning, let us know. (I also just realized that I can be bothered to write seven paragraphs. I feel like a boring person.)

She still did it anyways. xd

Edit: 'I feel like a boring person', lol, you're not. That's what I like about you >.< You bother to make paragraphs which make you feel good about yourself xd Well, that's how I feel when I do anyways.
