How To Use Recording Softwares

These are some easy guides to using certain video recording softwares to use while reporting a hacker or scammer.

Bandicam

Bandicam is possibly the easiest on you and your computer. It is free to download, and you get 10 minutes of free recording time per session, but you may buy a license to gain a longer recording time.

To use Bandicam, all you have to basically do is download it and hit record.
Without messing around with the settings, Bandicam will not record if your game is in fullscreen.

Bandicam's recording defaults at a 30fps. For best results, either lower your game's maximum fps to 30, or set Bandicam's recording fps to a higher rate.

To do so, click the General tab on the left hand side of the application, then click the advanced tab. Click here for visual aid. Once you have done so, a window should pop up. Click Others on the top bar, then go to Video Format Settings. Click here for visual aid. From there, click the FBS bar and edit as needed. Be sure to hit ok before closing out.

Once you are done editing the application as needed, you are good to go!

Open Broadcaster Software (OBS)

Obs, like and unlike Bandicam, is totally free. You can record for however long you wish at no charge, but the system is a bit more rough on your PC.

There are two versions, a 32-bit and a 64-bit. Be sure to download the correct one.

Once you have finished downloading your new recording software, you have to do a bit more here than with Bandicam. First off, you have to create a scene. You can do so by right clicking the white box under the word Scenes, and selecting Add Scene. Name your scene as you please. (The boxes should be at the bottom of the OBS application)

Once you have done so, you also have to create a source. This is easy if you like to used window version of Minecraft. Right click as you did for Scenes, hover your cursor over add, then select Window Capture. Name it as you please, and boom, done. You are ready to go. Hit Start Recording and catch those hackers.

But, if you are like me and prefer fullscreen mode, then you must open your Minecraft game, (make sure you are using the version you wish to record with) and log in. Once you have done that, do the same as above, but instead of selecting Window Capture, go all of the way down and select Game Capture. Name it. From there, a new window should open, looking like this. If Minecraft is not already selected, then click the box and select the correct item you wish to record. Hit ok and you are done there.

As above, it is best to record in sync with your Minecraft game's frames. To change the recording fps of OBS, click the settings tab, select video, then edit the fps by either entering a number or using the buttons provided. Click here for visual aid.

Fraps

Fraps is sorta like Bandicam on how it is free. You get 30 seconds of recording time unless you buy it. You can easily activate it though by using the hotkeys it comes with, but you have to be fast about it. Too soon, and your 30 seconds will be up. Too late and you died too soon to the hacker.

ezvid

ezvid, as it's name implies, is very easy to use, though a bigger download. It is light on the computer, and easy to access. You can get up to 45 minutes of recording, which is plenty of time to catch the malefactors. All you have to do is hit the Capture Screen button, hit Capture Now and you are done. Click here for visual aid.

ezvid will capture any screen, and will even upload the video to Youtube. All you have to do is fill in the blanks at the top left of the application, hit record/stop recording, then the cute and easy Upload to Youtube button. Bam, you are done. You wait for that video to finish uploading and you can post it here on the forums.

Every time you wish to make a new recording, hit the new project button that is beside the play button.

The only thing wrong with ezvid, is that it has to have music. Which gets annoying.

ezvid will not record fullscreen Minecraft.

And there you have it, 1 not so easy and 3 easy to use recording softwares. Have fun!
