Mob Spawning

So I built the classic Mob Spawner, 19 blocks tall 8 for the water.


Ive seen people that stand near the drop area where you kill the mobs / get the mob drops.

How do I make the mob spawner so that when i stand at the drop point the mobs actually end up there?


Do I just need to make the mob spawning platform lower?

I would add water streams that push the mobs to the drop point.
(water stream flows 8 blocks)

Funnel them with the water to one point, then you can kill them all at the same time. Maybe then put a hopper with a chest underneath to collect the drops.

I have a normal mob spawner just that mobs arent spawning

Chances are there are the same type of mob in a close enough area to spawner that these mobs are stacking onto the other mobs. Give the surrounding area a big enough check, make sure it's clear.
