My spawner is broken.

Hi,
I made a farm to collect drops but my spawner isn't even spawning any mobs?! can someone list the possibilities to why my spawner is spawning mobs?

Make sure it's a 16x16x3 area that isn't lit. Then ask again. And screenshots?

You need to be near the mob spawner otherwise they don't spawn if you were not close to it.

It will also depend on what spawned you have.

If it's a hostile, you're probably not close enough to it.

If it's a non-hostile, you need to remember you MUST have light AND grass in order for these to spawn

Also for non-hostile, you need grass blocks the same level as the spawner
And put glowstone on top of the spawner (it keeps the mobs through lag clearing)

If you are using a hostile mob spawner (spawns mobs that will attack you), then the spawner room should be dark and fairly large (16x16x3).
If you are using a passive mob spawner, then light and grass are required in the spawner room.
