Questions about islands.

I am about to buy the 250x250 and i was just wondering Can i be a member on and island and own a island? And does it only activate on the island you own? Thanks

It will only activate on your own island, if you're on a friends island it will stay the original size. You need to be the owner of the island for the expansion to work. You can have your friend transfer ownership to you if you want to stay with them but upgrade the island.
