Scam Alert: Fake Cash Reward Papers in AH.

I'm sure I"m the only one who didn't know this was a thing until I fell victim to it; however, posting this example of what not to fall for. So there are those who like to scam others as they aren't smart enough to come up with ways to legitimately succeed in a game. They post papers with cash amounts on the name and when you mouse over them it will say "Right click to redeem". Seems legit aye? Wrong! If the cash amount does not show up as green, then it is a fake. See the example of a fake in the image below. Note the player's name as well so you know who isn't an honest player as well. :)

Warned the player and the paper has been removed from the auction house. If this continues to happen in the future, the player will receive an appropriate restriction from the game.

Wow, thanks, Luke. I feel like such a noob on MC as I am fumbling through as these types of things occur lol. Thanks again.

We try and clear the ah of them as much as we can, to try and stop this from happening.

This same individual tried scamming in a different way today and got called out on it. Chat flew to fast for me to get the screenshot of the scam. This is how this person reacts when he got caught though. He feels it is acceptable in game to "scam" as well as "harrass". Keep in mind, my advice to anyone with players like this... Just put them on ignore and report any rule-breaking. I have put him on ignore and kinda hope someone snags this kid and teaches him a lesson on how to act in a MC community. He's obviously in need lol. ^_^

To avoid scamming hand to hand, you just need to simply record it. I use QuickTimePlayer (for Mac) but you can also use other programs like Bandicam, which you can use on all computers. As there is no proof, we can't take action / add to the players breaking rules history. I'll keep an even closer eye on the player from this point onwards. Warned the player once again, on more severe terms, and they will face a punishment next time if there is sufficient proof that the player has scammed.

Thanks, Luke. My point in posting this was he says in the chat which you can see on the left that nothing will happen to him if he scams and calls me an idiot. I just want the point to be driven home with him that it won't be tolerated. Ya know? lol
