Totally new and confused.

First Step
Not new to Minecraft, but this is the first time I've tried to play online (any game, really). I don't even know how to chat.

How do I chat? How do I talk to someone who can give me a little help and get me started?

Now I'm lost in the survival map. I somehow clicked the wrong thing and it teleported me.

I did figure out /warp, but when the list comes up, it says page 1 of 7 and I don't know how to advance that. So I'm only seeing the first few and none make any sense to me.

I think I was supposed to get something when I entered, but I got teleported before I checked anything. How do I get back to the starting point? Is there a way to reset and start over?

Not the greatest beginning for me. haha. Sorry for the noobness.

You normally open your chat with "T", but if not you can check in controlls (options> controlls) what your button to open chat is.
To view all the other help pages you do /help and add a number behind it (e.g. /Help 2).
To get back exactly where you started it's /spawn (to get to hub it's /hub). And when you do /kit, you see all the kits available for you. One of them you might wanna try is /kit fight, it's a kit for unranked players.

I don't play a lot of survival to be honest, but I still hope I could help you a little. Have fun playing! :)
And if you need anymore help, there are staff and players on the server who mostly will answer your questions, and the forums is a good place to ask, too. Don't worry, though, everyone starts out little.

Reminders regarding to survival:

Sponge
Anyone can damage your land unless you have claimed it with a sponge. One sponge protects your land 21x21x21 (21 blocks). Pvp is enabled per sponge unless you disabled pvp with at least 15k.

Remember to set your home to go back to your area (/sethome and /home).

Warps
There are multiple pages to warps individual players have set.
First page: /warp 1
Second page: /warp 2
Third page: /warp 3 etc.
Helpful warps
/warp shops
/warp dungeon
/warp end
/warp pvp
/warp nether
/spawn
/rtp

Auction House
Where players sell whatever: First come, first serve.

MCMMO
The more you gain, it upgrades your ability to do it.

You can also right click with a weapon or tool (eg. sword, axe, pickax, shovel) to activate its ability that either damages more or has a higher efficiency for a brief moment of time.

Custom enchants
Survival has custom enchants you may have not seen before (eg. blindness, withering, regain, explosive arrow, poison, etc.).

The custom enchants are treated about the same as regular enchants except it's a chance to get them.

Parties
With parties, you can share and chat with others.

Another party are dungeon parties (/dparty) which allows you to bring multiple players with you for completing the dungeons (/warp dungeon). Dungeons consist of mobs and when you kill the mobs you can earn different items. If you complete the dungeon, you earn money (1k I believe). There are different difficulties (easy, medium, hard) you can try and see which one suits the best for you. Also, if you die in the dungeon, you keep your inventory. After using a dungeon, you have a cooldown (prohibits you from using it again until after that time period).

Guilds
Upgrade your guild, set guild homes, invite more members, bank account (/g help, /g top).

Keys
You can receive different rewards depending on which key you have (right click with the key onto the corresponding crate at /spawn).
Common > Uncommon > Rare crate > Legendary.
If you /vote (vote for the server), you can get vote keys. You may vote every 24 hours.

Pay
/pay (IGN) (Amount) to trade money.

Global levels
They are beside the player's IGN and basically shows how active the player is. Additionally, it shows their statistics as well. You can view your own by typing /lvl or someone else's by typing /lvl (IGN).
8da762d4b6894ae7bf5d8d223c750500.png

Every 50 levels, you earn two bonuses: extra damage you deal and an extra half a heart.

Hope I helped clear any leftover confusion.

Awesome help! Thank you both.
I'm still not sure if survival is what I want to be playing. I'm not that crazy about pvp. Some is fun, but it's annoying if you're getting attacked all the time when you just want to build. I'd be happier with survival mode the way it is offline, but with people to play with. More co-op than fighting.

What do you play? What do you recommend?

Maybe try out ZombieV? It's pve (player vs environment) and a neat gamemode overall. The main objective is to survive through the waves and gear up.
