Why does the Server have such a low view distance?

Literally cannot see mobs that are further than 13 blocks away, kinda stupid.

That may be your Render Distance. Change that by going into Options, Video Settings, and change the Render Distance to higher. But this might make your game run slower.

msi x1151, i5 6.6k 3.5ghz ( Oc'd to 4.10ghz ), 16gb ddr4, gtx 980. Max graphics everything at 13 chunks render with optifine.

Its not my game. Its the server.

Same happened to me. I can play max render distance and still I can't see too much.
