Faction level system?

Hey I see there's a levelling system in the factions server where you get points for perks can anyone tell me how it works?

like, is it in time intervals to level up or do you do something for exp?

You can level up by killing mobs, placing/braking blocks all the normal things that you would do level you up.

You can do /perks and click on the certain things you want updated
