Also, I'm not sure if this was before or after Jeb's tweets (follow him on twitter), but Jeb mentioned he was working on it about a week or so ago. The information his been updated to. It's an underwater-based mob. It's ranged and kills both players and squids alike. (Sky fans must love that part lol.) It will most likely be limited to the new dungeon type, underwater dungeons, but maybe it will spawn elsewhere in ocean biomes, albeit much more rarely. Jeb also recommended "full diamond" armor if you fight this mob on hard, so this will probably be a fairly hard mob on any difficulty. It's not clear if this is a boss or just a really tough mob, like endermen. (sort of) There's also new blocks to go along with the dungeon. Actually, some of these new blocks may be in ocean biomes in general. The main one in question has variants in the dungeon, but is said that it can be found in oceans.. Screw it. It's little easier to link it than explain it.

Good news and bad news. Good news, the new mob is in newest snapshot. It's fairly hard and has an even harder boss-like variant referred to as an "Elder." The mob's name is officially "Guardian." It attacks by firing lazers from it's eye. It has a secondary attack to, but not a direct melee type. See in wiki entry.

Bad news is Bunnies aren't, but as consolation, this is snapshot 14w25a, not the 1.8 pre-release, so they may still make it in for 1.8. Also, underwater temples/ ocean temples do seem awesome and have a new block. Oh, and you get can sponges legitimately, since the Elder variant drops them and they seem like they're meant respawn, just like the normal Guardians.

Cute? Ehh.. cute, until they wreck you at least. Oh well, I'm going to love seeing them wreck squids while on Creative.

I was going to make a snapshot thread, but this has only been dead for two weeks now. The main reason I'm bumping this is because Bunnies have been added to Minecraft in Snapshot 14w27. They come in a variety of colors (more are planned, as Ryan, theMogMiner said on Twitter) and one even is Hostile (Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog). They also drop stuff, so it looks like people even have a reason to kill the cute bunnies. (sorry bunny lovers) You might even find one drop worthwhile (their feet, literally).

Rabbit's feet is a new potion ingredient. (Can you guess what that one is?) Rabbits also drop their hide (4 makes leather.. kind of crappy imo) and meat, which can be cooked. Cooked rabbit meat is an ingredient itself, for Wabbit Stew (probably not spelled with a "w"), which gives fills 10 hunger. Oh, and lastly, there's a reason to kill sheepys now. They finally drop mutton.
