Can't hold a torch in my second hand anymore?

Hello all,

So sorry if this is the wrong place for this but I am seriously troubled here...
I always used to mine with one hand my pickaxe and the other a torch so I could see with shaders...
But now when I try to add my torch to my other hand it automatically drops... Anyone know why this happens?

Really? That is weird. It said when I got the IP from those server list sites that it was 1.12
