Protection chest..

How do i create regions? I never received a protection chest when i started.

Create a protected region in a 21x21x21 area by placing down a sponge. Get more sponges in shops, in the auction house, or if you're lucky, find some in water temples. Only you can use things in these areas, but if you'd like to add someone, do /protect add (username). If you'd like to know more commands, type /protect in chat.

(Adding someone to your region allows them to build and break blocks)

(if you do /protect trust (username) then it'll only allow them to open doors and access containers though)

I've read on the forums about getting a protection chest that will allow a new player to create 11x11 region, is this longer available?

A protection chest is no longer given, instead, you get a protection sponge.

Are you supposed to receive a protection sponge when you create a new account (which i haven't received) or do you have to buy them?

You receive a sponge when you log on for the first time.
