Snapcraft Rules Index Clarification

This is clarification, and further explanation for the Official Snapcraft Rules. You can view the Official Rule page here. This thread will provide the players all the knowledge they need about how they can maintain a healthy server environment, and ensure that they are not punished.

Why have we updated our rules?
Some of the rules, methods and policies we have on Snapcraft are outdated, and we feel like the entire community would benefit from a change. We have laid out the rules, ban/mute durations, and strikes in a systematic and easy to understand way. That way the entire community is aware what each rulebreak will entail, no secrets. As a team, we understand transparency is vital in building community confidence.

Please Note:
By playing on the Snapcraft Network you expected to follow and understand the rule at all times. Snapcraft staff reserve the right to change or modify any rule as they see fit within the circumstances. You also consent to an officially trained staff member running an 'Echo Screenshare' if we feel like you are in breach of one our rules.

Bannable In-Game Offences:
Some punishment durations have been updated, and will be detailed below:

Grouped the bans by duration, and changed some offence durations to fit the format, and to make it easier to understand.

All hacking related bans are now grouped together, and are the same duration. For example, being banned for 'reach' and then 'nametags' will now be a 3 week ban. Previously, we treated them as separate entities. Essentially, being banned 4 times for any form of 'hacking' will result in a permanent ban.

The offence 'illegal modifications/client can include many things. This list contains some examples, but is not limited to:
-
All Hacked Clients
- J3Ultimate
- Podcrash+
- CheatBreaker
- World Downloader
- Scripting
- Resource packs, such as x-ray or armour overlays (to see protection levels etc).
- Nametags
- Macros
- Fly Boosting (staff can do this for a staffing purpose).

The offence 'minor bug abuse' can include many things. This list contains three examples, but is not limited to:
- Gapple Running.
- Invincibility Glitch, (logging in/out).
- Map Exploiting.

Added the new 'Player impersonation' rule. It is illegal to impersonate another player's username or nickname and act in an inappropriate manner which could cause backlash for the original occupier of the username/nickname. Or, if they do not consent/agree that you too can have that name. You should ask via Discord first.
A 'username/nickname' is anything which has been used for a prolonged period of time (30 days). After 2 months of this username/nickname not being used, any player is welcome to use this and act however (keeping to the rules of the server).

Staff can use the following methods to verify messages sent outside of an in-game environment to punish for Threats of any sort, and IRL Scamming:

- Discord
- Lunar DMs
You need to screenshare with a staff member whilst in a call to verify these messages, with the appropriate and sufficient proof.

Depending on the severity of your offence, you may be placed on the 'blacklist'. This decision will reside with a senior member of staff, and will be discussed between these appropriate staff members to ensure this player is treated fairly.

Muteable In-Game Offences:
Some punishment durations have been updated, and will be detailed below:

Grouped the mutes by duration, changed some offence durations to fit the format, and to make it easier to understand.

All muteable related offences, (excluding those that are an instant permanent mute) have been grouped together. For example, being muted for 'toxicity' and then 'spam' will result in a 1 week mute.

Changed the duration on 'racism' and 'offensive behaviour against marginalised groups'. We feel like this punishment was happening too frequently and was being treated to leniently. We have therefore decide to act in a harsher manner, in an attempt to stop this behaviour from happening. For example, if you are muted once for 'toxicity' and then for 'racism' you will receive a 3 week mute.

Staff can use the following methods to verify messages sent outside of an in-game environment to punish for Illegal IRLs:
- Discord
- Lunar DMs
You need to screenshare with a staff member whilst in a call to verify these messages, with the appropriate and sufficient proof.

ScreenSharing:
We will be introducing Screensharing in an attempt to tackle issues with DDoSing, alt account abusing and bypassing a ban that we have on Snapcraft. Only trained and trusted members of the staff team are allowed to conduct a screenshare. They can be identified by their @Team Screenshare role on our Discord Server. If a member of staff does not have this role, and attempts to screenshare you, please report it immediately. Simarily, if you feel like a staff members has done something during the screenshare process that you feel is inappropriate, or not allowed, please DM GlowWiggy.

Upon being frozen, you will be given five minutes to identify yourself to the staff member which froze you, and begin the screensharing process. These will typically happen in the Snapcraft Discord, unless you are permanently banned for whatever reason.

You will be frozen if we have grounds to suspect that you are cheating based on information received. You can find all the screenshare rules on the rules page.

Staff will record every screenshare and keep it for our records, to avoid players making false allegations. They will not be shared elsewhere.

Our punishments are harsher for screensharing offences, to deter players from breaking the more 'serious' rules on the server. All screenshare offences will be grouped together, and treated separately from 'Bannable In-Games Offences'.

We are currently not Screensharing for cheating. Only: DDoSing, Alt Account Abuse and Bypassing a ban with a VPN.

Discord Rules:
We have introduced a new bot onto our Discord server to better manage punishments. We can now, /warn, /mutes and /ban players for their behaviour. This new should allow us to better moderate our Discord, as the system in place beforehand was not up to standard. This should also bring unity across the network, and mirror the punishments we give in-game.
If you are banned from our Discord server, you can appeal here and it will be reviewed by our Appeals Team.

Forums Rules:
Warnings points will not be removed from your account. Please ensure you are using forums your own pleasure and to benefit the community. There is no need to argue, or break the rules on there. We use the forums to improve the server for everyone, so we ask that you use it correctly.

Please refer to following definitions for the offences:
Bumping a post means commenting on a thread that is older than 1 month and is no longer in use. We have this rule to prevent old and unused threads from coming back to the front page and push new threads to the side.

Faction Rules:
Due to this being a competitive styled gamemode, specific staff with the @Team Factions role on Discord will deal with any rulebreaks relating specifically to Factions. You can find a more in-depth breakdown of all the rules by clicking here.

Survival and Skyblock Rules:
The rules listed within this section apply across the entire Network where valid, but are mainly relevant for Survival and Skyblock. Some of the punishment durations have changed, and also some new rules have been added.

AFK Grinding is an offence and will result in a ban. This is where you are not actively clicking or grinding the mobs, and are 'Away From Keyboard' whilst your In-Game character is attacking mobs, farming crops etc. If a staff member suspects that you are in breach of this rule, they will complete a series of tasks to try and get your attention. These being:
- Spam message you.
- Tp you elsewhere.
- Stand in-front of your player.
We will ban your account if you are not actively playing or acknowledging the staff member trying to get your attention.

We have introduced a new rule, 'claim abuse' in an attempt to tackle some issues players are facing in-game on Survival. This rule relates to you purposely, intentionally, or with negative intentions blocking the progress of another player, by claiming one or more blocks around their claim. The Staff Team will look at each case subjectively and make a decision. If we feel like it is in breach of the rule, you will be warned to remove this claim. If you do not, you will be banned for the appropriate time.

Finally, for the first week of any, new, Survival Reset, we have added a rule that you may claim one corner, per player. One week after the reset, you may claim any that are left.

Regarding Trade of Snapcraft Merchandise:
Trading of any kind of Snapcraft merchandise for any form of real-life currency, gift cards (excluding the ones for our store) and Minecraft accounts is strictly forbidden.

We will try our up-most to return any goods or valuables are lost during a trade, but we cannot guarantee anything. However, the scammer may be banned if there is proof (This applies to all servers including Factions). This ban is permanent!

You may ask a staff member to be a so-called "middle-man". The staff member will hold the in-game money/items until the other party has upheld their end of the deal. This method makes sure no party is at risk.

Any purchases bought and not received by the paid party is under our responsibility. The player is to create a ticket to have their purchase reviewed and returned if applicable.

Alternative Accounts:
We do not allow the use of more than 4 accounts per IP (This includes family members). Any player found using more than 4 accounts on our server will have some, or all their accounts blocked depending on the circumstances. Please remember that you are responsible for your IP. Anyone bypassing the limit of 4 with use of a VPN will be permanently IP banned for abusing alternate accounts. If you have any concerns about how many accounts are on your IP, message a staff member. An account is considered 'inactive' after 2 weeks of not being online. You can only have 4 active accounts on our Network.

Media Rank:
If you have a social media profile on: TikTok, YoutTube, Instragram, etc, then you can apply for the media role on Snapcraft! We ask that you have at least one video promoting the server before applying. You must get at least 150+ views a video, and must be a positive member of the community. We do not want influencers spreading negativity and portraying the server in a poor way.

Disclaimers:
We have an Anticheat active on all our servers to negate the damage that these rulebreakers have on our server. There will always be players cheating. If you find someone or is, or have a suspicion, please message a staff member who can deal with it appropriately. Alternatively, record the player breaking the rules and open a ticket so that it can be dealt with.

Any form of autoclicking is strictly forbidden (including the Minecraft version 1.15 option). We also strongly discourage manual clicking methods that cause extremely high CPS.

Please note:
Staff can punish players for serious offences, even if they take place on other forms on media outside of the Snapcraft Environment, such as:
- Discord
- Twitter
- YouTube
- Snapchat
This list is not exhaustive, but making dox threats, DDoS threats and in some cases death wishes will result in staff taking action on the Snapcraft Server. Players that are the victim of this will also be prompted to block and remove that person from their socials to prevent it happening again in the future.

We only accept proof that is 7 days, or less old. A date/timeframe will need to be shown for offences outside of Snapcraft if they are not already apparent. Staff will also need to verify these messages by way of screensharing, gathering IDs of the player etc. If all these points are not met, then the proof is deemed insufficient.

Thank you for Reading:
Please contact a staff member if you have any further questions about rules and punishments! Thank you for taking the time to read our Rules, and make sure to follow them!

Kind Regards,
The Snapcraft Team
