I like the idea of having a central spawn, avoid drop camping.

I reckon a multi-dimention map could be fun? 4 sectors for overworld/ nether/ end/ sumo?

I like old maps, and I agree with what Ashie said.

First, the features it should have (yes posting these is a must):
- a flat area to fight properly
- at least one lake
- map should not be too big
- no invisible blocks in areas players might want to explore
- centered spawn - so that you can drop off at many different places

And now for some pictures:
- fantastical builds: build, build
- you could do something with animals or weird beasts: monster, animal
- old, abandoned places: futuristic, cathedral
- colors: muted, soft and pastel, natural

Maps:
- random shapes: abyss, quiet
- circular: island, linear
- square: cluster

Things I don't want:
- different biomes like in the 4 seasons map (https://i.imgur.com/pt3qgqy.png)
- lots of grass on the ground
- too many tight spaces, especially around the spawn area
